Dr. Colleen Georges

The career and life coaching industry has evolved from a niche idea to a worldwide movement, now a key part of personal and professional growth. With the pace of life today, mental well-being, career change, and burnout, coaching provides essential clarity, confidence, and direction. With greater complexity, individuals look for certified coaches to navigate challenges, reimagine life, and develop emotional resilience. The profession now interweaves profound psychological understanding with action-oriented techniques, promoting integral development. This has also brought to the foreground women leaders possessing academic expertise and heart-centered leadership. Dr. Colleen Georges is one such individual with a mix of science, empathy, and empowerment. Her work captures the essence of contemporary coaching: change, self-confidence, and significant influence in life’s multi-faceted dimensions. Dr. Colleen Georges is a Life and Career Coach, TEDx Speaker, Author, and Founder of RESCRIPT Your Story LLC. With a PhD in counselling psychology and over two decades of influence, she has helped thousands re-author their inner stories and create lives of purpose, confidence, and fulfilment. Her path from camp counsellor to award-winning author has grown out of purpose, resilience, and heart. Whether working with clients, teaching students, or mothering her son, she leads with hope, thankfulness, and a fierce belief in human potential.
From humble roots as a camp counsellor to becoming a life-changing coach, this is a journey sparked by purpose, driven by passion, and guided by the impact
Dr. Colleen Georges started her professional path not in an office of a corporation or a classroom, but in a summer camp at 14 years old, working as a counsellor and for the first time developing a passion for mentoring others. Her initial experience of mentoring and inspiring young minds instilled in her a lifelong vocation to assist individuals in reaching their fullest potential. Spurred by that enthusiasm, Colleen went on to get a degree in psychology and later a doctorate in counselling psychology. Initially planning a career as a family therapist, her path was altered mid-way through graduate school when she was given a career counselling internship at Rutgers University. It was a life-changing experience. Assisting students to discover their strengths, establish meaningful goals, and build faith in themselves stirred a stronger sense of purpose. What began as an internship became a 13-year student affairs leadership career. In 2008, she started RESCRIPT Your Story LLC, initially offering resume writing services. Over time, her business grew into a full-range life and career coaching practice. Following the arrival of her son, she became a full-time entrepreneur, appreciating the autonomy to design her work around purpose and parenting. Her path is a witness to deliberate reinvention fueled not by traditional pathways, but by passion, fearlessness, and a dedication to empower others.
A purpose fueled by profound gratitude, purpose, and dedication to making a positive community impact that elevates lives and inspires enduring positive change
Dr. Colleen is fueled by values that move beyond career success, deeply embedded in purpose and service. She holds the belief that each working hour must count towards something larger, a principle that applies to her coaching philosophy and life. In her practice, she empowers clients to reauthor limiting self-stories and live lives that are meaning-aligned and authentic. Her values, however, do not stop at coaching. From working at neighbourhood food pantries to guiding students at Rutgers and participating in environmental clean-up activities, Colleen embodies her commitment to community and contribution. At the centre of her philosophy is gratitude. She practices and instills daily appreciation, viewing every challenge and encounter as a chance for learning and change. This attitude creates resilience, instills empathy, and enables her to stay grounded and joyful, even in adversity. Her unshakeable faith in the potential of people drives each coaching session, each kindness, and each moment invested in developing her relationship with her son. Colleen’s life is a richly woven tapestry of gratitude, purpose, and hope. These are not concepts. They’re daily habits and the cornerstones of the authentic, positive energy she infuses into every aspect of her life and work.
Leveraging the power of positivity, strategic planning, and deep psychological insight to overcome adversity, spark growth, and create lasting, meaningful impact in all areas of life
What makes Dr. Colleen stand out among the sea of life and career coaches is her uncommon combination of scholarly depth, shining positivity, and visionary transformation. Though her counselling psychology doctorate provides her with a deep grasp of human behaviour, it’s her zest for life and an intuitive sense that create lasting impressions. Whether connecting face-to-face or through a computer screen, Colleen shares an infectious joy that lifts others, encouraging clients to have faith in themselves even when they no longer do. Her power is disassembling daunting dreams into directed, achievable actions. However, her coaching is much deeper than positive motivational platitudes. Her processes are grounded in psychological science, providing actual emotional skills for surviving trauma, fear, and self-limiting beliefs. Her proprietary RESCRIPT method teaches clients to move from self-doubt to self-compassion by reframing their inner story. This innovative, rigorously trained, personally reinvented, and long-experienced hands-on coaching methodology combines motivational flair with therapeutic richness. In an industry where inspiration or framework is enough for many, Colleen provides heart and science. Her clients don’t merely get what they want; they change their perspectives, bringing lasting inner transformation that remodels the way they experience everything in their lives.

The awards honour her work, but the core of her work is still service, healing, and enduring empowerment.
Leading the Empowerment of Women through the Development of Confidence, Empathy, Resilience, and Disruption of Social Norms
Dr. Colleen’s work, especially with women, is based on an understanding that leadership must undergo a paradigm change from dominance and authority to collaboration, confidence, and compassion. She is a teacher who says real leadership is not overpowering others but about advocating for yourself, being truthful, and elevating others as you ascend. In her journey, Colleen has done the frequently uncomfortable but necessary work of claiming her value, setting boundaries, and not shrinking herself into old ideas. She celebrates the principle that women need to stand in their power and unapologetically claim their voices. At the center of her philosophy is empathy, a necessary characteristic of any leader intent on building inclusive and empowering environments. She finds that surviving systems influenced by patriarchy take both grit and collective strength, as failure is a given, but transformation is always an option. As a seasoned instructor in Rutgers’ Women’s Leadership course, Colleen has guided hundreds of future women leaders toward fostering an ethos of support rather than competition and action rather than fear. To her, the greatest leaders in life focus on emotional wellness, create space for mutual uplift, and lead with unshakeable compassion. In Colleen’s life, leadership is not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about creating space for others to be seen, heard, and recognized.
Breaking Through Deep-Seated Fear, Lifelong Self-Doubt, Societal Expectations, Gender Bias, and Personal Limitations
Being female in a man’s world has presented challenges that Dr. Colleen has confronted with candour, resilience, and change. She has wrestled with anxiety, panic attacks, and chronic feelings of self-doubt early in her career, which resonate with the plight of so many women attempting to find their place in professional environments. Like so many others, she underestimated her value and consistently held back from occupying space or pushing for respect. She faced sexual harassment in educational settings and witnessed the glaring inequality in remuneration and accolades between men and women. Opening her coaching business introduced new inner struggles: how to charge for her services, market herself, and be seen without shame or fear. But Colleen would not be silenced by hardship. Instead, she opted to rescript her own story, taking the pain and turning it into purpose. These hurdles were the genesis of her movement to empower women. Through her Women’s Goal Achievement Group and leadership efforts, she coaches others to claim their worth, set boundaries, and flourish despite systemic opposition. Her journey is not only one of triumph, it is one of transformation. Colleen’s journey reflects the incredible power of healing, resilience, and the unwavering belief that women deserve to lead, speak, and rise on their own terms.
Advice: Believe in Yourself and Take Bold, Imperfect Action
When asked what advice she has for the next generation of women heroes, Dr. Colleen speaks with urgency and heart. “Stop waiting for permission,” she says. Women are taught far too frequently to wait for approval or perfection before they act, but leadership is created in imperfect, bold, and persistent action. She invites young women to act imperfect, bold, and unrelenting and to redesign the narrative that tells them they’re not ready, not enough, or not qualified. She also challenges them to surround themselves with positive women and avoid the toxic comparison. To her, success is not about getting it all done; it’s about getting the things done that reflect one’s values and bring peace. Gratitude practice, building community, and remaining aligned with purpose are the pillars she teaches each woman she coaches. To Colleen, the future generation of women isn’t just ready to lead; they’re already leading, and the world is waiting to hear from them.
